Itinerary:

Day 1: Cusco – Mollepata – Cruzpata – Soraypampa
We’ll pick you up at your hotel at 4:30am, depart Cusco at 5:00am, and arrive in Mollepata around 7:00am. There, we’ll have breakfast and begin our trek toward Cruzpata, finally reaching Soraypampa and our first campsite in the early evening.


Day 2: Soraypampa – Collpabamba – Chaullay
We’ll have breakfast at 7:00am and continue our trek through the Collpabamba Valley, where we’ll enjoy lunch. As we near the jungle’s edge, we’ll observe changes in the landscape as well as a number of river formations, orchids and cataracts of great magnitude. Today, we’ll also have the opportunity to view the majestic Salkantay. Then, we’ll continue walking toward Chaullay, where we’ll make camp, enjoy dinner, and spend the night.


Day 3: Chaullay – Lucmabamba
After breakfast, we’ll begin walking again, noticing along the way a number of coca plantations. This last section of our trek will be mainly downhill, to Lucmabamba, where we’ll spend the night.


Day 4: Lucmabamba – Hydro-electric Plant – Aguas CalientesWe’ll have an early breakfast, then hike toward Machu Picchu´s Hydroelectric Plant. Once there, we’ll pause for a snack, then end our trek at our hostel in Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu’s neighboring village).
*Clients may also take the train to Aguas Calientes from the hydroelectric plant if wished.


Day 5: Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu – Aguas Calientes – CuscoVery early, we’ll go up to the Historical Sanctuary of Machu Picchu to enjoy a guided tour of about two hours, the free time before boarding the 3:55 train back to Cusco, where we’ll arrive around 8:30pm.

• Camping gear: Dining, kitchen and bathroom tents; two and three-person tents; camping tables and chairs; kitchenware; etc.
• First aid kit, oxygen tank and rescue ropes

• Muleteers to care for horses, camping gear and food

• First breakfast and last dinner
• Sleeping bag (rental option)
• Round trip bus ticket to and from Machu Picchu
• Train from the hydro-electric plant to Aguas Calientes (if you desire this option).
