Description:
Manu National Park and Biosphere Reserve is not only the Peruvian Amazon Basin, but it also includes ecosystems at altitudes of up to 3,600m above sea level. The area is ideal for the exploration of a variety of distinct ecosystems, as well as better understanding of all the reserve has to offer.
Attractions:
This program includes observation, identification and exploration of the flora and fauna. As well, we’ll visit the spectacular vantage point at Tres Cruces (Acjanacu´s natural balcony) to watch the sunrise over the Amazon jungle (especially in June and July).
Places to go to:
We’ll visit the upper portions of Manu’s: highlands, high-altitude jungle and cloud forests, as well as the Union Trail.
Activities:
We’ll take several guided treks in order to explore the Andean highland and jungle flora. This program is ideal if you would like to know more about Southern Peru’s cloud forest ecosystems.
Optional:
We can spend a night in the highlands (Tres Cruces), staying longer in the cloud forest, or make a stopover in Paucartambo, a traditional Andean village.
Important:
This program can vary in its duration, but must include at least two days and one night.
